Sensorskinz™ Instructions

Sensorskinz™ is not intended to replace the plastic barrier or serve as a means of infection control isolation.  It may enhance the effectiveness of the barrier by reducing the likelihood of rips and tears.

Sterilize before use.

Dispose of the Sensorskinz if any part becomes cut, torn or deteriorates.

It is not recommended to place Sensorskinz™ in an ultrasonic bath alongside sharp instruments, as they may scratch or damage the device during the cleaning process.

Instructions for Use:

  1. Cover the sensor and data cable with a protective plastic barrier.
  2. Select the appropriate sensor holding bite block based on the area you intend to image.
  3. Align the corresponding Sensorskinz™ cutout with the bite block's backplate.
  4. Insert the sensor (protected by the barrier) into the bite block.  Strech the Sensorskinz™ and pull it around the sensor until it fits snugly.
  5. Position the sensor inside the patient's mouth to capture the radiographs for that area, Change as needed for the next desired image.

Reprocessing Steps:

  1. Remove the Sensorskinz™ from the sensor holding device.
  2. Clean using an ultrasonic cleaning machine with enzymatic cleaners.
  3. Rinse thoroughly under running tap water.
  4. Ensure complete drying.
  5. Place in a sterilization pouch and position it in the center tray of the autoclave. Run the steam autoclave at 270°F (152°C) for 10 minutes at 80 PSI.
